Prototype Fabrication Engineer – National and International

The Company:

The Role:
This position will report to the Production Plant Operations Manager. 
The mechanical fabrication engineer will primarily be involved in the fabrication of prototypes and custom make products for our national and global customers, along with general manufacturing requirements on location at our factory, and on site around New Zealand and on site at various international locations around the world.
The position works in close liaison with internal Company members of engineering design, estimating, purchasing, project management, and production scheduling, and external customers, suppliers, and industry members.

The Individual:
You will have sound knowledge of metal manufacturing and fabrication including cutting, welding, forming, CNC machining, finishing and assembly practices, and knowledge of material types and processes, in conjunction with demonstrated extensive experience in prototyping or custom metal fabrication, in both stainless and carbon steel. You must be available for national and international travel and eligible for a passport.

You will possess:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a custom/job shop manufacturing environment
  • A high level of accuracy in adherence to predetermined design specifications
  • Dedication to achieving results consistently and under pressure
  • Creative problem-solving skills and an approach based on teamwork as well as individual drive
  • A sound knowledge of all manufacturing processes
  • Ability to apply continuous improvement methods such as Lean manufacturing

The Role:

You will be regarded as a specialist stainless steel fabricator, and you will have sound knowledge of metal manufacturing and fabrication including cutting, welding, forming, finishing and assembly practices, and knowledge of material types and processes, in conjunction with demonstrated extensive experience and a high skill level in metal fabrication, in predominantly stainless steel but also carbon steel. Proven ability in MIG and TIG welding of Stainless Steel is a requirement. You must be available for national and international travel and eligible for a passport.

You will possess:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience in a custom/job shop manufacturing environment
  • A high level of accuracy in adherence to predetermined design specifications
  • Dedication to achieving results consistently and under pressure
  • Creative problem solving skills and an approach based on teamwork as well as individual drive

The Role:

You will possess:
 

You will have a proven history of reliability and productivity in general labouring roles that may involve stores, assembly, dispatch and or manufacturing/agriculture etc. 

You must be available for national and international travel and eligible for a passport.

You will possess:

A minimum of 1-3 years work experience in a practical, hands on, high demand  environment

A good levelof fitness, strength and endurance
A high level of accuracy in adherence to standard operating procedures
Willingness and dedication to achieving results consistently and under pressure
Creative problem solving skills and an approach based on teamwork as well as individual drive
A sound knowledge of general health & safety requirements
